Hello world, this is Modular Juice :)
Hi there,
so you ventured into this newly started venture, eh ? And you ask yourself: "What's this about ?"
Well... This is about people. About what they know. About how they communicate what they know, and how that knowledge gets persisted.
Modular Juice consists of two guys, so far:
Jacob has 14 years of IT operations under the belt. He's founded in the servers that lie beneath all the beautiful programming, and the scripting that automate said servers. Has very little actual programming experience, but understands OOP principles.
Rasmus is an ASP programmer, who also does IT operations and support. He has been doing website programming based on ASP for some years now.
None of us know PHP thoroughly. But we know enough that we think it'll do a great job as our language of choice.
We love collaboration. We love sharing knowledge. We really, truly love it when someone creates something, and share that so others may learn from it.
The background for this project is founded in that.
And it's founded in believing that Web 2.0 technologies transformed to Enterprise 2.0 technologies, is just not focused enough. We believe the technologies are valid. We also believe the way they're applied can be valid.
But we think that to make sense, they need to be transformed and focused to truly support what's valuable in an enterprise:
- The processes
- The people
- What the people know
- How the people communicate what they know
- How to reach sound decisions from that knowledge and communication
- Persisting that knowledge, that communication and those decisions
This is a huge undertaking for us. We have lives including family, children, music, games, all sorts of stuff. So progress may be slow at first. But we will gain momentum.
This project is supposed to be opensource at its core, but with a Pro version with extra functionality targeted at enterprises.
This project will be based on PHP. The end product is supposed to be web based, complimented by at least iPhone and Android applications. And let's see what's available otherwise, by the time we reach that point ;)
We can always use help, of course. So if you're a PHP programmer, a web graphics artist, a user interface guy/gal - we'd love to hear from you.
Please contact jacob or rasmus at this domain, detailing how you believe you can contribute to the project.
Project Status: Product and feature planning. Project being laid out and brainstormed. Not a single line of code yet.
What can you expect from this blog ? Basically our thoughts, findings, questions etc. we run into, during the creation of our collaboration/knowledge sharing product. What we stumble upon during this project.
Game on !
